As a friendly reminder, it is extremely dangerous to combine certain medications with alcohol. In some cases, interactions with alcohol can reduce the effectiveness of medications or even render them ineffective altogether. In other cases, drug interactions with alcohol can make drugs harmful or even toxic to your body, even when taken in small doses.
Several patients who were taking Flagyl - Metronidazel and drank alcohol experienced very unpleasant and in some cases life threatening side effects. If you are taking Flagyl - Metronidazel, we strongly advise you to refrain from drinking alcohol. (We specifically mentioned one antibiotic, but there are numerous other medications that pose the same threat.)
Each and every Crohn's and Colitis patient should consult with their doctor to determine whether or not drinking alcohol while taking their medication is safe, and if they are even permitted to drink a drop!
Please be responsible! Do it for yourself and for your family.
A Freilichen Purim! And Tumid B'Simcha!
